It was an interesting experiment, designing a cafe to contrast the mundane corporate routine. The ever competitive industry is a clear reflection of the city that never sleeps – Mumbai! The interiors, with their primary colour scheme provide a stark contrast to the somber business complex it is situated within. Mondrian inspired maps of Mumbai and the artwork on the walls depict the city’s lifestyle – rags to riches. Pop art portrays a unique compilation of the city’s trademark possessions - Worli Sea Link, Bollywood, Dharavi, Dabbawalas and so on. The concrete flooring depicts a constellation of stars of varied sizes. Be on the lookout for the pulleys, crane hooks, concrete walls and an exposed industrial aspect blended in with customized art, furniture and chandeliers. Walnut polished furniture simply adds humble warmth to the entire space. All in all this vibrant café is a perfect antidote to one’s ‘Corporate Chase’.
